For the past 15 years, I served in many different roles in business. I am an entrepreneur, a creative and someone who thrives on bringing people together in innovative and impactful ways.
Through my agency work, (which has continuously evolved as my interests have expanded) I have created concepts and events for others, written and edited thousands of words, and produced my own creative projects. I also have supported and advocated for small businesses like myself. Through it all, I’ve discovered the powerful role that community has always played throughout my journey.
Born and raised in Texas, with midwest roots thanks to my mom, I completed my undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. I studied Political Science and International Studies with minors in English and French. Back then, I had visions of being an attorney (like the iconic Claire Huxtable) or a possible career with the United Nations, but several unexpected life turns led me on a different corporate path.
After several years in corporate America, I took my first plunge into the world of entrepreneurship by way of a company layoff. Since 2009, I’ve created hundreds of innovative marketing concepts, events and creative elements for companies of all sizes, individuals, nonprofits and city agencies.
After a few years as an agency owner, I discovered that my true speciality (and passion) was creating unforgettable, cohesive online and offline experiences. In 2015, I began producing and publishing my very own original content and experiential concepts.
The City Influencer x Joule Launch Party
My life definitely changed when my passions began to intersect with my business. It was at this time when I began to host and speak professionally for organizations and conferences. I also got my introduction into the startup scene when I received an opportunity to lead and create content and events for one of the first orgs representing the North Texas startup community.
Women’s Summit, Dallas Startup Week
Over the course of two years, I met many talented founders around the state of Texas, but I also observed that much was still needed in order for women and entrepreneurs of color to truly succeed. My commitment to my home state was definitely solidified and it is now fueling this next phase of what has been an incredible entrepreneurial journey.
